| UVSA/NAVSA Hurricane 2005 Relief Effort |
|
We understand and recognize that a lot of Vietnamese people in the southern States have been affected by this and that many have been relocated to the Vietnamese communities in Houston as well as Dallas. In response to Katrina, several members of UVSA have already traveled to Houston to help with the relief effort. Over Labor Day weekend, we joined forces with the Southern California Vietnamese American High School Alliance (VAHSA) in asking for the Vietnamese community for donations. On Sept. 9th, we dispatched a team of two dozen Vietnamese youths who traveled to Houston to continue to help with the relief effort in the Vietnamese communities there. Please visit our website at http://www.thsv.org for continuous updates on these events. We have join forces with the union of North American Vietnamese Student Associations (uNAVSA) as well as other Southern California Vietnamese organizations to step up our fundraising and relief effort. Several members of uNAVSA are also flying into Houston over the next weeks. By making a tax-deductible financial donation to the Hurricane 2005 Relief Fund, UVSA/NAVSA can purchase food, supplies, gas money, phone cards and basic living utilities for these Vietnamese victims in need. Alternatively, you can donate baby formula, baby food, diapers, general office supplies and equipment by delivering them to our office on weekends (with a prior phone call). All financial donation are tax-deductible and 100% goes to the victims. Click below to make a secure and tax-deductible donation or write a check to "UVSA" with the "Hurricane 2005 Relief Effort" in the memo field and send it to P.O. Box 2069, Westminster, CA 92684. News
